FRANET: Reporting to the Fundamental Rights Agency

Within the framework of FRANET, the efms is responsible for data collection and scientific analysis of topics relating to racism, xenophobia and discrimination as well as issues regarding asylum, migration and the integration of immigrants in Germany.

FRANET: The rights and support of victims of hate crime

As a cooperation partner of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, the efms is currently doing research on the legal situation of victims of hate crime as well as on their possibilities to gain support.

RED (Rights Equality and Diversity) European Network

The RED-network wanted to provide current and reliable data, information and analyses regarding discrimination and racism occurring at EU and national levels to the general public, politicians and journalists. In doing so, it wanted to contribute to combating discrimination and racism.

Effectively monitoring discrimination

Within the framework of the project, the efms was researching the methods of various actors (police, anti-discrimination agencies, etc.) to gather data on discrimination and was analysing the possibilities and limitations of collecting data on discrimination in Germany. Moreover, methods of gathering information on discrimination in Germany and the Netherlands were compared.

National Focal Point for Germany within the European Information Network on Racism and Xenophobia (RAXEN)

Collection of data and information and compilation of reports on the situation concerning racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia as well as on the situation of migrants, foreigners and ethnic minorities in Germany.

Study on discrimination against Muslims in the labour market

Commissioned by the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency (ADS), the efms carried out a study on labour market discrimination against Muslims due to their religion. The study seeks to present the current state of the art on various facets of discrimination against people due to their (assumed) Islamic faith in the context of employment. The study also identifies good practice initiatives aiming to prevent or redress discrimination against Muslims and present practical recommendation on how to implement such measures.

Feasibility Study "Standardized Data Collection for the Purpose of Proving Discrimination!? Current Situation and Future Perspectives"

Commissioned by the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency (ADS), the efms carried out a feasibility study on the benefits and limits of standardized data collection of cases of discrimination for the purpose of gaining insights into the phenomenon of discrimination in Germany. Within the scope of this study, all grounds of discrimination covered by the German equality law AGG will be taken into consideration (ethnic origin, religion/belief, sexual identity, age, sex and disability).

The mapping study on educational activities in Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland and the UK aiming at combating racism, xenophobia, antisemitism and related stereotypes provided an up-to-date overview.
