Study on discrimination against Muslims in the labour market

The efms is commissioned by the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency (ADS) to carry out a study on labour market discrimination against Muslims due to their religion. The study presents a comprehensive state of the art on various facets of discrimination against people due to their (ascribed or actual) Islamic faith in the context of employment. In addition to this systematic analysis of the currently available insights into the phenomena of discrimination against Muslims, the study identifies good practice initiatives and measures aiming to prevent and/or redress such forms of discrimination and concludes with practical recommendation on how to implement such measures.

This study is an essential contribution to an expert report, commissioned by the ADS, which will be complemented by a study on the same issue but from a legal perspective, carried out by Prof. Dorothee Frings.
